Longley Lane flyposting gone

A while back, Pam and I were chasing up on getting the fly-posting at the corner of Longley Lane and Altrincham Road in Gatley cleared away.

Unfortunately, it turned out that the side of the road with the problem (the north west corner of the junction) is in Manchester, so we just had to pass it over and keep our fingers crossed.

But, credit where it’s due, they’ve got it sorted and everything’s been removed. If only we could get the old, rusting metal bench on the corner sorted too.

IIRC, the old bench is down to the efforts of my father in law – circa 1973, when he was Liberal candidate in Northenden ward.

(Really like today’s choice of two words that have to be entered to post – “frayed politicians”)

Maybe we should encourage his successors to give it a lick of paint.

I wonder if Pam and yourself could look at the George and Dragon in Cheadle and perhaps get the fly-posting removed from this area. I have mentioned it twice at the Area Meeting as you will probably recall

Hi Alan, I believe it’s with Planning Enforcement at the Council, but I’ll chase it up.

Hi, What about the advertising trailer blocking the footpath on Shiers Drive, STILL, how many times do I have to mention this to you Iain? I do know that the council have been made aware of this, but still no action, I wonder why?and the two faulty street lights still out.
