The latest crime figures for this year compared to last year demonstrate that all crime in Stockport was down 16.4% (3,984 fewer offences). There has been a 17% fall in burglary, vehicle crime is down 25.3% and robberies have fallen by 31.9%. There were also significant decreases in serious violent crime in Stockport, reduced by 6.6%.
Less serious incidents of assault were reduced by 11.3%. These results build on longer term reductions in crime and anti-social behaviour. Over the last six years the Safer Stockport Partnership has achieved the following reductions in crime:
· vehicle crime down by 46%
· serious violence crime down 43%
· robbery down by 27%
· anti-social behaviour down by over 30%
